Meet the Team!
Chuck is the owner of Rockfish Gap Outfitters and an avid hiker and paddler. As a member of Boy Scouts of America, Chuck hiked Diamond Head Volcano in Hawaii, a 300,000-year-old crater that encompasses 350 acres. He started in retail when he was just 16 years old and has worked in the outdoor industry for over 40 years. Chuck originally purchased Rockfish Gap Outfitters in 1998 with two partners. You'll typically find him in the store working with customers to help them find the right gear and clothing for their upcoming adventure.
Rich is an avid outdoor enthusiast who stumbled upon Rockfish Gap Outfitters in 1999 after hiking the Appalachian Trail. What started as a part-time job turned into a passion for outdoor retail, the outdoors community, and a career for the last 21 years as a buyer and manager. Rich has a Parks and Recreation Resource Management degree from George Mason University and loves living in Shenandoah Valley with the abundant trail systems, rivers, and recreational opportunities. He is an avid hiker, backpacker, trail runner, and has dabbled in ultra running and triathlons. He lives on the river surrounded by nature with his wife and son who both love the outdoors.
